Boy (n): a noise with dirt on it

BABY Holly reached five months of age last week, yet her nursery still remains undecorated. Well, not unless you count the teddy bear picture that has big sister Ella’s name engraved on it.

For some reason, decorating Holly’s room keeps getting pushed down the list of things to do. So, the weekend was spent trying to decide what wall art to select from the Bright Star Kids website. At this stage, I’m thinking of spelling out Holly’s name in baby pink. What do you think?

I’m seeking your opinion because, basically, I’m hopeless at making decisions.  I’m the type of person who goes shopping for three hours and comes home with nothing. The bloke in The Shed, on the other hand, will return with 10 bags (which will include two pairs of white sneakers that look exactly the same as those already in his wardrobe).

Bright Star Kids agent, Elisha Squire, knows a thing or two about decorating children’s rooms. After all, she’s mum to Chris (11), Bella (9), twin boys Jackson and Jesse (17 months) and has “Little Whoops A Daisy’’ due April 5. Phew!

She also understands parents wanting to choose just the right wall art. So she’s offering to send any Three Li’l Princess readers interested in the wall stickers a star sticker to try on your wall at home and stick-on label samples. Yes, the Aussie business not only does premium removable wall art, but also personalised kids’ labels. Pefect for labelling items for child care or school. There’s also wheelie bin labels and bag tags.

    • Kel says:

Thanks Marissa. Yes, those ones took my eye too. Probably because our three-year-old princess loves dressing like a fairy!

  4. Skye Merchant says:

My son would adore the Sky High Wall Stickers, he’s crazy in love with anything that flies.

  8. Sheralee says:

For Holly I would go with the butterfly wall stickers and in the kids wall letters her name in either bright pink or vibrant violet but just cannot decide on which style of writing… I have also seen the spots and dots wall stickers on a wall and they looked great also.. oh the choices! Can’t wait to do my own kids walls:)

    • Kel says:

Yes, trying to decide on the style of writing was probably the hardest part for me. They all create such a different look.

  9. Kimberly says:

Personally, I love the tree. A great imagination feeder as little girls imagine all the wonderful animals that might live there! Add some hooks to the branches & hang a couple of coats or pretty dresses. Maybe even a nice little decorative bird cage??

    • Kel says:

Kimberly, that sounds absolutely gorgeous. I like the idea of adding hooks to the branches. Fabulous! Very creative. 🙂

  10. michelle harding says:

Hi, i’m a fan of both pages ! I think you should buy the fairy wall stickers, they are so cute 🙂

  11. Melissa K says:

    Have liked both pages 🙂
I reckon her name done in Vibrant Violet with some lovely groovy garden flower wal stickers would look ever so pretty 🙂

  12. Shana Bone says:

I think the Giant Tree Wall and either the Butterfly or the Bird Wall Stickers would look great together in a girls room and wouldn’t really have to be changed as she got older.

It’s days like this when I think why couldn’t my son Bailey be a girl but I’m happy I have him and that he is healthy but there sooooo much pink n pretty stuff around! LOL

    • Kel says:

That’s a great point, Shana. It would be good to have something that carries through with them for many years.
LOL! My hubby would say the same about boys. He loves his two girls, but sometimes he wishes he had a boy to kick the footy and go fishing with!! Although, Ella has a pretty good right foot!!!! 🙂

  13. Kristy says:

Hi think you should use the georgous canvas art, there is some very pretty stuff for lilttle girls!

  14. Lisa Fairbridge says:

I had a hard time choosing so I thought what would I decorate my babies room with and this is what I came up with…
Farm Wall stickers cause they are so cute,
ABC alphabet wall stickers so little one can have a head start recognising letters without even realising it (plus they are suitable for Aussie ie the K is for Koala not a kiwifruit or a kite)
The Jungle Wall stickers again cause I love animals
and to top it off bubs name in Vibrant Violet for your baby (silver Shimmer for my little man) using the same style as the words Friends Forever is done in.

  15. Lee Cavanagh says:

I am a big fan of tea party … what little girl doesn’t like a good teaparty ! Delightful !

  16. Anita says:

I love the groovy garden flowers and think they would look super cute in any little princesses room and would grow with them! And to top it off you could add some butterflies and even your little princesses name!

  17. Kimberley Belford says:

butterfly wall stickers with her own personalised ‘hollys’ room stickers

  18. Rochelle says:

Hi! I think the butterfly stickers are gorgeous and open up endless possibilites with colour combos for the room, its also perfect for a little princess but not too babyish for an older girl either. I have seen some gorgeous butterfly mobiles on facebook that would match perfect. For the font i would choose something bold and maybe a little but italic but nothing too cursive, the bold font is very playful looking and would go beautifully with the colourful and playful butterflies 🙂

    • Kel says:

Wow, I like the sound of complementing it with a mobile. Great idea. Holly’s nursery is very neutral at the moment, so we’re an open book when it comes to colour combos!

  19. Belinda says:

Like & Like – I love the giant tree – and you could keep adding to it – butterflies and flowers – the room will grow!

    • Kel says:

There seems to be lots of votes for the tree. It is gorgeous though, isn’t it?! So many possibilities as to what you could do with it.

  20. Amber says:

I love the ”fairy wall sticker’s” they are sooo pretty! Instead of ‘Holly’s room’ I think just ‘Holly’ on it’s own with the faires around it would look great! Goodluck deciding!

  21. nellbe says:

Gosh I can see the dilemma you are having! I am having trouble deciding for you as well. I think some Wall Letters so its all hers with the Groovy Garden wall stickers, cute and cool at the same time.

and I am a liker of both pages.

    • Kel says:

I’m glad I’m not the only one then!! 🙂
I do like the letters, definitely (but then I’ve still got to decide on colour and style). Oh, the choices!! hehe!!
Thanks so much for the support. 🙂

  22. Tina Burr says:

I am a really big fan of Bright Star Kids and have bought numerous wall letters and wall stickers from them and now a big fan of yours. I done my little girls room (she is 6 months) in the vibrant violet with the script style, large wall letters and I separated each letter and also bought the butterfly wall stickers and put between each letter and also put them all around the name. I really like it so that is my pick for you either the vibrant violet, baby or bright pink with the butterfly wall stickers and I would even go the butterfly height chart just to top it off. I am sure even the fairies and butterflies would compliment one another.Any style would suit Holly’s name. Goodluck I am sure she will grow to love whatever you choose. Also I done my teenage daughters room in the bright pink script style jumbo letters with the baby pink stars that looked really good too and would suit any age.

    • Kel says:

So nice to hear from one of Bright Star Kids’ fans. I love the sound of what you’ve done with your own children’s rooms. Sounds gorgeous! Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂
