Holly's toothy grin.

This week I’m grateful for:

  • Manners. Three-year-old Ella has the most wonderful manners. After noticing my post baby belly the other day, she was quick to point out “you’ve got a fat tummy, Mum’’. Sarcastically, I repied: “Thanks, darling’’. Her response: “You’re welcome’’. Hmmm. Three year olds do not get sarcasm.
  • Having the opportunity to work with the wonderful Tina from www.tinagray.me on the Aussie Giveaway Linkup, which starts here on the blog Sunday. Make sure you link up your giveaways and/or enter to win some prizes. But please be aware, I’m feeling rather lucky!
  • Someone finally leaving our home. I sniffed out that our guest was making the girls miserable, so I told him, quite frankly, “our relationship blows’’ and he finally went running out the door. Be gone snotty noses.

I’m joining with Maxabella Loves to share what I’m grateful for.

  1. Oh they are brutally honest aren’t they!!

  2. Caz says:

You sure have to love 3 year old comments. Get a few of those myself. Looking forward to the giveaway linky – have a couple lined up for you this week 🙂

    • Kel says:

      LOL!! Ah, the truth, hey?
Yes, really excited about the Aussie Giveaway Linkup too. Glad you’ve got a couple of giveaways to link. That’s brilliant! We’re getting lots of support, which is great. 🙂

  3. Emma says:

What a polite little girl you have, if perhaps a little untactful 🙂 I now know to never ask my children (who don’t yet exist) how I look in my jeans.

    • Kel says:

hehe!! Oh, I’m sure your future children will think you look gorgeous in your jeans, considering they’ve got the same genes, right? 😉

  4. Tat says:

My son told me I had a big bum once… But then sometimes he says, ‘You look so nice, mummy’

    • Kel says:

Awww, that’s lovely. The “you look so nice” comment, I mean! Not the other!
They’re a real mixed bag with their comments these kids. Ella quite often tells me my hair looks beautiful, but more often than not it’s after she’s attempted to style it for me!! 😉

  5. I wonder at what age they begin to mask the truth?? my 3 year old definitely calls it as he sees it. Ahhh!

    • Kel says:

In a world where everyone’s always willing to please, sometimes it’s refreshing isn’t Gill!! I hope they stay that way for a few more years to come! I like knowing that I need to tone up a bit. Great motivation. hehe!! 🙂

  6. Megan says:

Good manner in children always make me smile. I say be grateful for the lack of understanding of sarcasm as well as the manners, it’ll be way more painful when she is old enough to get it, and use it!

I have been trying to kick that same someone out of my house this week as well after feeling miserable myself. He seems to be an annoying house guest everywhere at present.

    • Kel says:

Oh, I do hope you start to feel better soon, Megan. There’s nothing worse than entertaining guests like that. He’s a horror version this year too. Hoping we don’t see him again for quite a while! 🙂

  7. Jane says:

Aw, kids can say the most brutally honest thing and still be cute! xxx

    • Kel says:

Too true, Jane! If only we could get away with saying something like that and still be considered cute!! hehe! 🙂

  8. Renee says:

Hahahahahaha 3 year old honesty – it’s the best! That comment made me laugh!

    • Kel says:

Glad you got a chuckle out of it, Renee!! I’ll be reminding her of this comment straight after she has her first child!!! LOL! 😉

  9. No, none of my girls liked my haircut when I recently cut it short! Just as well I did!!
And manners are so scrummy on kids – can’t get enough of it. My nearly two yr old already says pleash and ta – and she is genuinely proud of herself for it! (plus she puts her rubbish in the bin…wish sh’ed teacher big sisters that one!!)
    have a great weekend
    xxxCate

    • Kel says:

Oh, that’s wonderful, Cate. What a clever little girl she is. It’s something that’s pretty important in this household – even if it does come after a comment about my untoned tum!! 😉

  10. Mandy Ferry says:

my daughter told me this week, she loves her swimming teacher, “she’s so pretty mum, she’s even prettier than you, but don’t worry I still love you”

    nice one!

  11. Shelley says:

I hope Miss A’s guest gets that same message this weekend – these snotty night sleepovers are just not on! The giveaway linky sounds fabulous! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend. xx

    • Kel says:

Hoping your Miss A’s guest leaves too, Shelley. He’s not much fun, especially for little people.
Really looking forward to the giveaway linkup tomorrow! Can’t wait to discover some new giveaways! 🙂

  12. Carlene says:

I just love the beauty & innocence of three year olds! They have such charm & honesty!

  13. Maxabella says:

The snotty nose made me laugh!

I didn’t know about the giveaway so thank you. x

    • Kel says:

I’m sure Mr Snotty Nose will visit us again before the winter’s out! For now, he’s off visiting some other poor, unfortunate family! 🙂

  14. Glenys says:

I’m always grateful for manners. Just wish I heard a few more of them around here. At nearly 7 for my eldest you’d think it would be automatic..but Nooo still have to wait till he realizes mum isn’t getting xyz before I am asked in the correct manner. Do hope the penny drops soon.

    • Kel says:

Haha!! Yes, fingers crossed Miss 3’s manners can be sustained!
Hope things change in your household soon, Glenys! It’s a battle, isn’t it? 🙂
