This week I’m grateful for:

  • For my three-year-old daughter allowing me to see what I’ve become this week under the effects of a cold and sleep deprivation. Jiggling her “baby’’ on her hip this afternoon, she remarked how her bub was very tired. “You woke her up. I’m very annoyed with you. She’s going to be very tired now. OK? You were very naughty.’’ She then produced a rather over-the-top frown, with furrowed brow. Oh dear. I need to relax.
  • Again, for Ella, realising my misery this week, allowed me a 20-minute nap one afternoon. Well, after poking me in the head 15 times and then shouting “Wake up, Jeff’’. But there was 20 minutes uninterrupted sleep, none-the-less.
  • A pain in the chest (most likely indigestion) being the catalyst for me teaching Ella what to do in an emergency. There were some rather humorous moments (of course), but you’ll have to wait ‘til Tuesday for the full story.

I’m joining with  Maxabella Loves to share what I’m grateful for.

  1. Isn’t it hilarious when they tell us off? My daughter does it all the time, complete with Grump Face and pursed lips. How do you not laugh?

Can’t wait to read this funny story!
    x

    • Kel says:

LOL! Exactly, Kellie. I then get a “what are you laughing at, Mummy?”. Trying to explain that is then the next challenge!! 🙂

  2. Naomi Ellis says:

Too funny but not funny. So hope you get feeling better lovely and how do these cherubs get so cheeky so young??? craziness! hope you can have some more rest this weekend. N x

    • Kel says:

Thanks Naomi. I’m battling along, as we mothers do!! Hubby is being a big help this weekend and giving me a bit of a break. 😉
Yes, starting to worry about what’s to come if this is what she’s like at 3! Mind you, it was very hard not to laugh at her. She did look rather cute as she was doing it!! xx

  3. Lauren says:

Gosh Kids are funny aren’t they…they pick up the smallest things! Hope you are feeling much better! x

    • Kel says:

Thanks Lauren. Slowly on the mend now!
It’s quite frightening what they pick up. Really makes you check yourself after you see something like that (after you’ve finished laughing, of course!!!) 😉

  4. Lauren says:

Your Ella is gorgeous. What a sweet age!
My Miss 3 tells me off all the time and it’s only then I realise how much I must nag at her. Oops.

    • Kel says:

Hehe! They’re pretty good at keeping us in line, aren’t they? It’s definitely a fun age – loads of personality! 🙂

  5. Neé says:

I often think that looking at my children is like looking in the mirror on a very bad hair day. Some days it’s just best to put on a hat 🙂

  6. jody says:

Oh isn’t it funny when they repeat the very things we have said to them! scary infact! Hope your enjoying the long weekend! x

  7. We get the WAKE UP JEFF calls in our house too. The Wiggles have a lot to answer for with this one, don’t they? Gill xo

  8. katepickle says:

Nothing like hearing yourself in the words of your child to make reality hit home hey? I hope you are feeling better… and the weekend is being good to you!

    • Kel says:

Too true, Kate. I’ve certainly been conscious of what I say since. And yes, slowly getting better thanks to some sleep and honey and lemon drinks. Thanks so much for asking. xx

  9. From the mouths of babes! It’s like holding a mirror up to our imperfections sometimes 🙂

    • Kel says:

Exactly! Unfortunately, they’re not the kind of mirrors you can hide when you’re having a bad hair day!! hehe!! 😉

  10. Sometimes I hear myself saying something similar and it doesn’t even sound like me anymore and all of a sudden I’m THAT person.
