IT’S 8.22pm, my nose is red and running, my head is pounding, I have sneezed eight times in a row and bed is beckoning. I know that, for certain. However, I also know I’m addicted to blogging and just can’t help but write SOMETHING. So, here are some other things I know.

  • I know mothers don’t get sick leave. Why didn’t someone tell me this earlier? I may have applied for a different job.
  • I know there may be a few crocodile tears this morning when three-year-old Ella realises she won’t be able to go to dancing because mum needs to be close to a large supply of tissues.
  • I know she will then turn around an hour later and say: “it’s OK Mum, I’ll look after you’’ (ever the helper).
  • I know being a milk tanker to my girls has been one of the great joys of motherhood, because it’s allowed me to bond with them in a whole different way to which their dad does.
  • I know being a milk tanker to my girls has been one of the great pains in the bottom when you’re sick and pining for drugs to ease your pain. Aarrggghhh!
  • I know Baby Holly is likely to wake in about two hours, because she’s also sick and will want comfort (ie. a boobie juice).
  • I know much of this post will probably not make sense, which brings me to my final point…
  • I know it’s time now for bed. Night! xx

I hope you feel better soon. Sending broth and tissues and a warm blanket.

  2. Mandy says:

It seems this sick thing is making it’s way around the blog world! Hope you are feeling better soon.

    • Kel says:

Hmmm, wonder who started the domino effect, Mandy? hehe!! But you’re right. It seems to be the blog topic of the week!! 🙂

  3. I hope you feel better soon. I agree about the sick days. Noone ever told me that either! xox

    • Kel says:

      Thanks so much.
I’m looking forward to a sleep-in in the morning and The Bloke in The Shed entertaining the kidlets! That’s as close to a sick day as I get! 🙂

  4. Marita says:

    Hugs, get better soon.

  5. Mother Duck says:

Hope you’re all better soon. I know that I have a house full of sickies too and I’m a tad over it! I know that the chemist has been like our second home this week and that we really should take shares in their company. ROFL!

    • Kel says:

LOL!! That’s actually not a bad idea!
Yes, totally over it here too. First it was just Baby Holly and I, but Princess Ella had a few little coughs today. NNNOOOOOOOO!

  6. Hope you got a good nights sleep and feel better soon xx

    • Kel says:

Thanks Lil. I actually had one of the best sleeps I’ve had in ages, thanks to a little baby also having a decent sleep. Still a little way to go, I think, but feel much better than yesterday. Fingers crossed for another good one tonight. 🙂

  7. Get well soon! I really believe mums should just never ever get sick. It should be a rule of the universe. Alternatively sometimes I guess it brings back the balance and forces us to slow down. BUT, it should be a time of our choosing!

    loved your posts.

    • Kel says:

Oh, what a great rule that would be, Gemma. Usually everyone else gets sick and I soldier on, but not this time. I really believe it is a sign for me to slow down (it’s been a bit hectic the last few weeks). Looks like a nice, relaxing weekend is in order! 🙂

    feel better soon.

  9. Daisy says:

I wholly relate to ALL of that. Except the dance lessons. Your girls are beautiful! Love that Ella is a little helper!

    • Kel says:

Thanks Daisy. Yes, Ella’s been pretty good today playing nurse to me. Although, she constantly wanted to change roles so I was the doctor and she was the patient! hehe!

  10. Grace says:

Mums don’t get sick leave, nor do we get annual leave or any kind of leave…*sigh* Somehow we manage to soldier on.
Hope you feel better soon x

  11. Sending get better vibes! It was tough when I stuffed my back not to be able to take awesome drugs coz I’m feeding Monkey Boy. And poor baby Holly, sick babies tug at the heart strings.
Hope everyone is feeling better really soon!!!

    • Kel says:

Oooh, hurting your back and not being able to take drugs would be really tough. No fun at all, Sarah.
And yes, always hard when bubs are sick because they can’t tell you exactly what’s wrong. There’s been lots of cuddles and feeding and she’s starting to look a little brighter. Now to work on me…. 😉

  12. Shae says:

Hope you are feeling better soon.

This is the first illness in 7 years where I haven’t been pregnant or breastfeeding so I was all DRUGS AHOY.

  13. CaZ says:

    Feel better soon princess Kellie!!

  14. katepickle says:

ah yes, when you’re sick and just want to take a little something so you can breath and sleep… that is one of the few times when I curse being the sole producer of milk… Hope you are better soon!

  15. Kirsty says:

Hoping today is a better day for you and your family. I’ve been sick too, must be something running around the blogosphere…that’s clearly the only explanation for it all! Sending you healthy vibes…
