Hanging out for party food.

This week I’m grateful for:

  • Another candle on a birthday cake tomorrow. Ella has been beside herself waiting for her Dad’s big day (Saturday). He’s turning… another year older. I was also grateful for knowing exactly what to buy him for a change – a copy of Sons of Anarchy on DVD – thanks to some pretty heavy hinting. Until I discovered it was supposed to be released 12 months ago and still isn’t out. It’s now tipped for an August 24 release, but no one’s confident that will stick. It’s Friday night and I still don’t have anything for him.
  • A Google+ invite. Well, I think I’m grateful. Still trying to figure out if I need yet another social media account. Let me sit on this one.
  • A new Nissan Dualis Ti, complete with sunroof and heated leather seats. Now who wouldn’t be grateful for a warm toosh on a cold morning? And even better, someone else paid for it. The Bloke in The Shed was so excited he posted a video on his Facebook page of him opening the sunroof. Yep, riveting viewing that one.

I’m joining with  Maxabella Loves to share what I’m grateful for.

I’m still trying to figure out google + too, not sure if i like it or not yet?!
Happy birthday to your hubby, have a great weekend! x

    • Kel says:

Yes, I’m still in two minds, Jody. I know what I like about Facebook and Twitter, but it’s still early days with Google+. I’m unsure if it’ll have any benefits for me. Or whether it’ll be just another excuse to waste time!! LOL! 🙂

I’m not sure what to think about google+ either – I haven’t actually checked it out properly yet; i’m beginning to wonder if the market is not saturated yet! I am sure your girls will love Mary Poppins in a couple of years – and probably enjoy some bits now, although the whole movie is quite long. My baby sister (she’s 11, but still a baby to us) loves it, so much. have a lovely weekend and thank you for stopping by. x

    • Kel says:

That’s actually a great point about the market already possibly being too saturated. But, as is Google, they will find a way to make it successful.
And yes, Ella is mad for Mary Poppins (as is her Dad!). She’s watched the movie about 20 times already and never seems to tire of it. Although, her concentration levels start to wane about 3/4s of the way in! I think in another couple of years she’ll be ready for live musicals. Can’t wait for that! 🙂

I agree birthdays and birthday parties are wonderful things to be grateful for.

Ohh … & I haven’t recieved a Google+ invite. Let us know what you think of it if you do take the plunge.

    • Kel says:

Yes, still not sure about Google+, Bronwyn. I might do a post on it next week after I’ve had a good play!
Am happy to try and invite you too, if you’re interested. Have sent out a few invites to others (some work and some don’t! Not sure why.) 🙂

      • Bronwyn says:

Thanks Kel … as chance would have it I have I received one today. As far as what I think … I think I need to play with it for a while before I can make my mind up about it.

  4. Elisha says:

I think i will have to befriend the bloke in the shed to see such videos ! HA HA

  5. Maxabella says:

    Happy birthday for tomorrow, Ella!

    Enjoy your new wheels, Mumma!

    x

    • Kel says:

Just took it for a spin this morning. Very nice! I didn’t want to come home and have to put it back in the garage! 😉

  6. I am warming to Google+. I sort of like it because it is not so noisy yet! I am sure that will change.

    • Kel says:

I have to agree with you about it not being so noisy. That has been one of the positives – no games, no add-ons and no spammers (yet)! Time will tell, I guess. 🙂

  7. Happy Birthday to the two very special people in your life. And another social site…? I’m personally wondering if there is time in my life for life outside of the internet. Balance. That is all I hope for.

And a new car. Yes, a sun roof is VERY exciting! Whoop whoop to you (especially hubby). xx

    • Kel says:

Totally agree with you, Kymmie. I’m even planning a “no social network” day this week. I feel like it’s overtaking my life!! I’ll probably end up with major withdrawals. My hands will probably be shaking uncontrollably by the end of the day. We’ll see! 😉

  8. Tat says:

Google+? It sounds like I’ve fallen behind again… Sorry Google+, no time for you just yet, whatever you might be.

    • Kel says:

Yes, thinking I don’t have time for Google+ either. This one is pretty similar to Facebook, except minus all those annoying games!

  9. babymama says:

Stopping by from Maxabella’s linky —

So glad I did. Apparently we have a lot in common. Namely babies and no sleep. 🙂

Happy Birthday to Ms. Ella and congrats on the new wheels!

    • Kel says:

Yes, babies and no sleep are a REAL issue here! I’ve even dedicated a whole page on the blog to the subject!! That’s how much I’m suffering! LOL!

  10. kate says:

Like leather in a car so this is my fave of your reasons today

  11. Seana says:

Oh, I’ve never had a car with leather seats, and I wish I had had… the fabric gets to messy and stained. Google+… not sure tho’ would love a play. I don’t do very well on Facebook and Twitter at all so really shouldn’t start something new. Don’t want to spend any more time online though… balance, balance!

    • Kel says:

Yes, balance is the key! There’s definitely enough distractions here online without another social media site to add to my list of things to do. I definitely need to cut back my hours online and I think social media will be the first to go! 🙂

  12. Happy Birthday Bloke in the Shed! How lovely that he shares a birthday with my (now!) Miss 3. Did you work out what to get him seeing as you couldn’t get the DVD? It’s my partners birthday later in the month and I always have no idea what to get him.

I feel like blogging and twittering and facebooking are well and truly enough for me at the moment!

    • Kel says:

I ended up getting him lots of little things that he NEEDED. A couple of business shirts, ties, a car thermos mug (for the new car on cold mornings!), a box of choccies, chocolate-covered coffee beans, iTunes card (OK, so he didn’t NEED that!) and a photo frame with a picture of the girls. He’ll most likely get the DVD too when it’s finally released!

  13. Daisy says:

I’m not sure about Google+ either. I haven’t been invited yet, but I’m not sure I’ll be very active on it! I feel bad enough that I don’t keep up with my facebook and twitter well enough!

    • Kel says:

LOL!! Same here, Daisy. I do too much reading and not enough participating as it is! Major time wasting on my part! 🙂

  14. Lauren says:

hope the birthday was wonderful and the dragon cake went down well! xx

    • Kel says:

Yes, went really well. Thanks, Lauren. There’s not much of the dragon cake left now. It didn’t last long! LOL! 🙂
