ALTHOUGH I posted about having a faeces of a week, I actually do have a few things to be grateful for:

  • Unicorn birthday wishes: Yet another inspiring conversation with Princess Ella this week: Ella: “Mum, can I have a unicorn for my birthday?’’ Me: “And where would we buy one of those?’’ Ella: “From a unicorn shop, silly. They have lots of different sorts of unicorns there.’’ Me: “ Thanks. That’s good to know.’’ I am now on the hunt for the unicorn shop. If you have directions, please pass them on.
  • 111 people are talking about my Facebook page: I’ll admit, I had no idea what “111 people are talking about this’’ meant when I saw it tucked under my Facebook profile banner. Exactly what is the “this’’ they’re talking about? I thought I should ask someone. That “someone’’ was Facebook people. And they had an answer. Apparently they’re not ALL talking about me, some are just clicking the “share’’ or “like’’ button – lazy, I say, darn lazy – but none-the-less, I’m in 111 people’s minds this week. Scary.
  • Birthday presents: Holly doesn’t fully understand that while it was her first birthday on Monday, it was Ella who opened all her presents. I’m sure this will be a different scenario in 12 months time. But let’s not go there just yet. For now, let her bask in the glory of her li’l mountain of wrapping paper. Which was actually Christmas paper, but let’s not go there either.

I’m joining with  Maxabella Loves to share what I’m grateful for.

  1. Amy asked for a Unicorn for her birthday. I found one on eBay. :)x

    • Kel says:

Thanks so much for that, Kim. I have eBay on my list next. At one time I used to be on eBay every day, but it’s been a while since I’ve been on there. There goes the next two hours of my life. LOL!! 😉

  2. The unicorn shop – that’s fantastic, that has to be at your local shopping centre, doesn’t it? My Matilda is turning 6 later this month and is starting to pile on the present requests now too – while she loves unicorns (and whispers into my ear that she believes in them but that’s a secret mum!), she has not asked me for one – yet! Let me know if you do find the shop, I may need to go to it too!

    • Kel says:

Hehe!! Still on the hunt, Kirsty. I could be a while….. Ha! I love how they have their list organised of what they want. Very cute! 🙂

  3. Caz says:

We have a little street here in Ballarat that’s called unicorn lane. I’ll check it out and let you know if that’s where the shop is :P)

  4. Maxabella says:

When you find that unicorn shop, let me know!!

(if you don’t, I highly recommend a unicorn ‘Pillow Pet’ – they are just fab!)

    x

  5. jody says:

Not sure where you’ll find that unicorn! but happy birthday to Holly! x

  6. Joni says:

I did notice that FB thingy too and wondered what it was about as you cannot click it to find out. Thanks for sharing that info.! Have a good weekend to you!

    • Kel says:

My pleasure, Joni. I find it so hard to keep up with all the changes. You nearly need a degree in Facebook to work half of it out!! LOL! 🙂

  7. georgi says:

the unicorn story reminds me of the movie despicable me where the girl’s unicorn toy gets evaporated and the yellow ‘minions’ have to go find one for her – they end up fashioning one out of a toilet brush (an unused one!). such a cute movie! x

    • Kel says:

Do you know I still haven’t gotten around to seeing that movie, Georgi. I really must see it soon. I’ve heard some great reviews of it. I wonder what Ella would think of a toilet brush unicorn? Hehe! 😉

  8. Laughing at the unicorn request!

So funny that now we want people to talk about us…facebook does like to keep us on our toes!

    • Kel says:

Oh, for sure, Deb. I tell you, I’m thinking they’re going to have to start offering degrees in Facebook so we can all keep up with the changes! 😉

  9. Tat says:

Good luck with finding your unicorn. I’m sure he/she (are there female and male unicorns, or are they unisex?) will be a fantastic present and well looked after.

  10. Perhaps there’s a unicorn shop online?

Ha ha! There is! Your litte princess was right. Google The Unicorn Shoppe. There’s a few little unicorn products for sale but no unicorn.

  11. Veronica says:

Amy decided that she needed a unicorn too. I found unicorn My Little Pony’s in Big W and Mum found one on Ebay 🙂

    • Kel says:

That’s fabulous, V. Wishing we had a Big W up this end of the State! Well, we are getting one… soon! Am about to go and do some eBay shopping!! 🙂

  12. Of course unicorns are available in the unicorn shop! Why didn’t we think of that?!?!
Love the christmas wrapping for birthday presents I doubt Holly was taking notes 😉

    • Kel says:

Hehe!! I hope she didn’t notice, Erin. Although, she will in another five years when she’s looking back at her first birthday photos. Oops!! 😉

  13. Aww happy birthday Baby Holly xx and facbook does not make sense anymore hopefully Illget the k=jist of it eventually but right now Im a little lost :/

  14. I once bought Miss 8 a toy unicorn and she looked at me in pity and said: “I meant a real one silly!” Happy birthday Holly, hopefully next year she’ll be all over it!

  15. danneromero says:

    a unicorn shop?.. how fun… I wanna go….

  16. Lauren says:

Good luck with finding that unicorn shop…maybe you should ask Ella…she might be referring to one in particular! 🙂

  17. Happy unicorn hunting (as in searching, not – you know!) and happy birthday Holly.
    🙂

  18. Cheryl says:

Aahh… unicorn shops. I’m pretty sure I know an elf who knows a dragon that might know of a good one :o)

  19. Lisa Wood says:

How sweet is that – all she wants is a unicorn and you get them from a shop! I asked my Mum for a pony when I was little, for xmas time. She brought me one…it was one of those “My Little Ponies” with the different coloured hair, and it came with a brush. I still remember that day – I was so not happy!!!

Maybe you can let her know that unicorn do exist, but only in dreams! Good on the present task, maybe she will forget about the unicorn by the time its her birthday?

    Cheers
    Lisa

PS – maybe she would be happy with barbie dolls?

    • Kel says:

Oh, I always wanted a My Little Pony, Lisa. I got a Cabbage Patch Kid instead!! LOL! I still have her and she’s one of Ella’s favourite dolls.
Ella’s birthday is in a month, so hopefully she forgets in that time. I’m liking the idea of a Barbie doll!! 😉
