Circle of Moms, Top 25 Aussie Mum BlogsI HAVE never been regarded as the most popular girl in the playground. So why the heck did I put myself into a blogging popularity contest?

Initially I decided not to enter the Top 25 Aussie Mum Blogs. Really, what was the point? Then I noticed some of my fave fellow bloggers had and I thought I’d look silly by not doing it. (Great logic there). So I clicked the button and typed in www.threelilprincesses.com. That was followed by a slight panic attack and visions of being picked last for the school Tee Ball team.

Since then, I have been blown away. I have no idea who you are, but thank you for voting. I’m at No. 33 at the time of writing this. Looking at those above me and just below, I figure my run will end soon. And that’s OK. As I said, I’m no Miss Popularity. And I’ve always been OK with that too.

My goal is simply to keep voting for the bloggers I love and who I think deserve a bit of recognition for their efforts. I hope you’ll join me in doing the same.

Regardless of your opinion of popularity contests (they’re crap, yes!), we all know how good it feels when someone gives us a pat on the back. Like everything, blogging has its good days and bad days. Your vote could help make an Aussie mummy blogger’s day.

So I want to know: who are you voting for? What are your favourite blogs and why?

Then, of course, it’s time to put yourself in the running for something special too, by clicking on the links below.

I’m voting for you Kellie! I go through every day and pick all my faves (including myself.) I hope you get into the 25; you deserve it!

    • Kel says:

Thanks Jess. You are doing so well. I think your spot is secured now – and well deserved too! You’re doing such a fabulous job with your blog! 🙂

  2. Louisa says:

I keep totally forgetting about it and then someone will remind me, I’ll go over and see that lovely people have been voting for me. Then I’ll put some random thing on my FB personal profile which most people will ignore – I will then forget about it again until the next time 🙂

    • Kel says:

Same here! Everyone’s Facebook reminders always prompt me to go and do some voting. Chances are the majority of votes for the comp are bloggers voting for bloggers! 😉

  3. Denyse says:

Hi Kel, and Jess and Louisa,
I thought it was just like a High School Popularity thing too….after a few twitter convos and so popped over to see what it was about, and thought,”give it a go, see if Grandmas are also accepted!!”
    I was.
Then, forgetting I’d done it, went back to find lovely people had clicked the VOTE button.
I go over when I remember, each 24 hours, and vote (all of you above, I have!!) for each blogger I know, follow, and do believe are part of a wonderful group…
    Aussie Mum Bloggers
Today, I did go a step further, and join the “would you mind popping over and voting?” group…slightly embarrassed..:-)

PS I’m ONE. So my prizes are in keeping with a birthday (remember Kel, you did have a lil Princess turn one this year!) Great Prizes for SKILL.
104 Packs of Kleenex Tissues, for a start, delivered to your home. 🙂

    • Kel says:

Despite the whole popularity aspect of it, it still is nice to be recognised, for sure, Denyse. I find it always hard to ask people for votes. I’m not overly confident when it comes to that part. But, as they say, you don’t get anything unless you ask!!
Good luck to you, Denyse. You’re doing so well. 🙂

    • Kel says:

Ooh, and congrats on turning one too! Well done! 🙂

  4. Caz says:

I really haven’t looked into this one at all yet. I haven’t nominated myself. I can never bring myself to nominate my own blog – it feels like such cop out or something. Not sure – but it messes with my head in some way. As with most things blog I support everyone to do their own thing. Must head over to do some voting 🙂 You’re fabulous blogger and deserve to do well.

    • Kel says:

      Thanks Caz.
I know, it feels kind of weird, doesn’t it? I changed my mind about three times before I finally punched in my URL. I’m not out to get in the top 25, but it is another avenue for new people to discover you, I guess. 🙂

  5. Anna Millie says:

I have been voting for people who supported me when I initially came onto the blogging scene (only about a month ago!). I’m more than happy to be reminded to vote cos I do forget!good luck!

    • Kel says:

That’s such a great way to go about it, Anna. It’s certainly a nice way to reward the people who have supported you. I think that’s been much the same mantra for me. 🙂

  6. Gemmie Alliston says:

I voted for you 🙂 I love your blog!

  7. miss.cinders says:

I have a pretty long list of who I have voted for lol But yes sweetness you have been getting my votes too.

You’re right, it is a popularity contest of sorts… I’ve made it to 102 votes at last check, and that’s just totally chuffed me. So what if I don’t make the Top 25 – hahahaha so not going to happen. But I must be doing something right to have 102 votes 🙂

And I have loved finding more Aussie Mum Blogs to read!

    xxx

    • Kel says:

Aww, thanks so much. You are too lovely! You’re on my voting list too, by the way! Like you, mine is veeeerrryyy long.
I think any number of votes is nice. That makes 102 pats on the back. Now you’ve got to be happy with that! 🙂
I don’t think I’m in with a chance of making the top 25 at all either, but love that it’s an opportunity for people to discover me and me to discover them! x

  8. I have been voting for you Kel! I have been voting for every blog that I know on the list. I figure everyone does the hard work so deserve a vote. I have a whole 30 votes! whoop whoop! I know I won’t be in the top 25 but thought I would put my name in the hat anyway. It is a popularity thing though so I don’t think I will bother next time. I am sure you will be in the top 25 though!

    • Kel says:

Hmm, not so sure I’m in with a chance, Kym! LOL! But, as I said in a previous comment, it’s a lovely way for people to discover my blog and me to discover theirs. I wouldn’t get too wrapped up in the number of votes and just embrace it as a form of publicity for your blog. And any publicity is good publicity! 🙂
You’re doing so well with your blog, Kym. Just remember that! x

  9. I’ve been voting for you Kellie and many others. When I received the nomination email I was quite chuffed, but realise now it is a popularity contest. I don’t have enough followers to hassle for votes, so I don’t. So, it is amazing that so many have voted for me. Thank you to everyone that has. I’m just happy for the opportunity to grow the Crash Test Community which will help me roll out my vision for this wee blog of mine. If anything, it has been great to discover some new blogs and show support for fellow bloggers.

    • Kel says:

I like your last sentence, Laney. I have to totally agree. I’ve discovered a few new blogs I wasn’t aware existed, so that’s been good.
And thanks for the vote. You’ve been on my looong voting list too! 🙂

  10. You have always been one of my favourite bloggers!! You have style and substance. Good luck xx

  11. thanks again for another great linky week kellie. Always have my vote! xx

  12. Lisa Wood says:

    Hi Kel,

Congratulations on entering into the top 25 Aussie Mums Blog – good on you for entering…yep totally get what you are saying about the “not being popular” at school 🙂

    Cheers
    Lisa

  13. nellbe says:

I would rather be nominated then nominate myself – never have been in these types of things. I do see it as a popularity thing though so if I was nominated, then there wouldn’t be too many votes for me. I have voted for a few and I like the new blogs I have discovered while checking out the list.

    • Kel says:

Same here, Nellbe. Never usually enter myself in anything – not even journalism awards!
Although, I think you’d be surprised at how many would vote for you. xx
