Hi, we’re not here at the moment. Please, leave a message and we’ll return your comment as soon as possible.

Poncho

Li'l Holly will NOT be wearing this white poncho to Agfest.

As this post goes live, we’ll be on our way home from a mini break in Launceston (pronounced Lon-ses-ton for the non-Taswegians), in Tasmania’s North. We were a little overdue for a break, so we decided The Bloke in The Shed should get his first taste of Tasmania’s largest agricultural show Agfest. I’m sure it will inspire some riveting read this week about big tractors, Blundstone boots and fleecy-lined Japaras.

Here’s 5 things I love about a mini break:

  1. Someone else can make the bed for a change. Or just make the bed full stop.
  2. If I feel like food, I can dial for it and it’s not pizza.
  3. I get to increase my collection of mini soaps and shampoos (I’ve been told this is bad etiquette. But seriously, who doesn’t do it? Apart from people who own hotels).
  4. There’s a mini bar. Not that I can ever afford it. Or actually ever feel like Bourbon.
  5. Someone else does the cleaning which, if you’ve ever looked under our dining room table, is a full-time job. If you actually decide to clean, of course.

What do you like about mini breaks? Have you been on one lately? Maybe there’s one in the linky below. Maybe.

We had a mini break last week although nothing went to plan. It was still fun though!
    Thanks for hosting!

    • Kel says:

Good on your, Jess. We should all take mini breaks more often!
Apart from a terrible night’s sleep, ours went pretty well. But it was full on. I think we packed too much into a short space of time. But hey, we had fun! 🙂

  2. Tat says:

I can’t handle the packing, but once you are done, minibreaks are the best. Someone else cleaning… what is there not to like about that?

    • Kel says:

The unpacking is the worst, Tat! I’m looking at all that washing today and wishing I could go off on another mini break instead. It was so nice to actually get away though.

  3. Oh I was dreaming of Mini break yesterday Kel, I was thinking a beach Mini break. Just something to recharge the batteries. I might have to act on it!

    • Kel says:

Do it, Kym! You’ll be glad you did. We did a city break, but I think a beach break is in order for us. Mind you, this time of year there’s probably not much point in Tassie! We definitely have plans for Cradle Mountain and the snow this winter!

  4. lucky you! Mini break is always a winner! hope you guys are well rested and had a great time x

    • Kel says:

Thanks Tahlia. Mini breaks aren’t quite the same with kids, are they? Mind you, it was still lovely to get away. We had fun!
      🙂
