I Love Linen

When I woke Sunday morning it was following by a little squeal of delight. And not because of what you might think. I slept through without being disturbed for the first time in three weeks thank to the flu.

When you finally get reunited with your bed you want to shout it from the bedroom chandelier. Except it just doesn’t sound anywhere near as exciting as the bedroom antics from Fifty Shades of Grey.

“I SLEPT THROUGH’’.

“So? Did you see what Christian Grey did? Now that’s worth shouting about.’’

Anyway…

That full night’s sleep had an extra element of luxury, because it was done between two layers of I Love Linen 1000 thread count cotton hotel sheets. I was transported to a five-star hotel, where they leave chocolates on your pillow, a fluffy dressing gown to slip into and the only disruption is the room service you ordered 20 minutes earlier. And then I had to slap myself around the head to wake up.

I Love Linen

Fresh sheets and a newly made bed are something to get excited about these days. Sad? Extremely. Except after you have children it’s these little luxuries that go a long way. A good night’s sleep helps you function properly, enables you to tolerate the day’s challenges and your skin will always thank you for it. You don’t need a magnifying glass to see the ravines adorning my face.

This set from I Love Linen came beautifully packaged, wrapped in brown paper and tied up with string – just like someone does when they really care about the recipient.

I Love Linen

There was even a beautiful handwritten note on the front.

I Love Linen

Inside I soon learnt what sort of a bargain I was being given.

I Love Linen

And can I add that these sheets look pretty darn good against our cream colour scheme and very smart with the stripe effect.

I Love Linen

Now, excuse me. I have a date with the bedroom….

Would have to be charcoal, as sticky and dirty little fingers are always a issue in our bed!! Oh how times have changed practicality over style!!

  7. Suzi says:

The coffee colour is beautiful. Am I coffee? I am strong and complex!

  8. Alexandra says:

Wood Mushroom, its not quite coffee and not quite Ivory…its a bit in between, the way I like my steak cooked, my coffee milked, my chocolate (milk) and lamb roasted.

  9. Toni says:

I can’t even choose!! Maybe white — or charcoal — but they’re all so gorgeous, and the doona covers nearly made me cry. I could have a new doona cover every week, no problem.

Coffee- describes me perfectly, smooth yet sometimes bitter if not treated in the right manner, i also leave a nice aftertaste!!

Ohh the MUSHROOM is hubby and me to a T (such a nicer name than beige) it matches perfectly the brown quilt cover he loves AND the patterned blue one I adore.

Thanks for directing me to the I love linen store. I had a very sad shoping trip on Sunday to try to buy a sheet for our bed and just couldnt afford the $300 sheet I loved!! At the moment we have 1 sheet, which means it is washed and dried in one day…a real challenge in a Tasmanian winter!!! I know where I’ll be shopping for my sheet now (even if I dont win this giveaway!!)

  19. Jenna says:

I would be cherry – although I need one extra ‘e’. I’m a morning person anyway but I’d wake up extra ‘cheery’ if you picked me.

Coffee block for me. I need help to get out of bed in the morning, as I just love sleeping in clean, crisp, fresh sheets. In fact I drink coffee all day just to stay awake and it keeps me going throughout the day. Oh, and it reminds me of going out to cafes sipping a vanilla latte (on soy of course). Did I mention I just happen to love…coffee? I’m a coffee queen in my own right….Oops I mean…bed 🙂

  31. Kathryn C says:

Wood Mushroom – warm, seductive and when I am toasted up I turn all squishy 😉

  32. Sue Bou says:

Pearl Grey, it has a calmness to it I’d like to have myself.

  33. Megan says:

I’m definitely queen charcoal, because I’m feeling burnt out! Although with 3 children under 5 and getting up to them on average of 5 times a night, I’m not sure I deserve these beautiful sheets to ‘sleep’ in!

  34. Dee says:

Cherry – full of love and passion for the gorgeous earthbound angel (aka hubby) who shares my abode 😉

  35. Diana O says:

CHARCOAL: Full of anger and rage at all the little things in life that are going wrong for me right now.

  37. Kim m says:

I’m like the black bamboo throw, I’m a bit messy and the black colour wouldn’t show the stains, just what I need.

  38. Enid Bite'Em says:

Ivory – because then I would have an excuse to start my day singing bad 80s songs, like Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder, with a little ‘Ebony and Ivory’(yes, I really am that daggy). Or maybe if I had really classy linen I would just go back to sleep and you wouldn’t have to hear me singing bad 80s songs?

  39. Becci says:

Charcoal – because I want to be that person with grown up coloured bed sheets.

Charcoal for me – then if I go to bed with dusty feet, I’ll get away with it!

CHERRY: cheerful & optimistic & I’m certainly colourful in more ways than one.

  47. Melinda says:

Would have to be cherry..not for the color, but for the fact that my son doesn’t like red. Hopefully by having red sheets on the bed, he will stay in his own bed at night. My hubby and I are not happy sharing our space with little bed hog!!

I’m a Linen girl. 100% pure linen, if I could become the fabric of my bed I would and i’d spend my evenings snuggled round my husband and my girls helping them sleep soundly.

  53. Samantha Savva says:

White – because all I can think and dream about at the moment is WHITE wine. Let me tell you, this pregnant lady needs a BOTTLE (or a few) of white wine to get me through the last few months of this pregnancy! If only I could actually drink it!

  54. Lisa says:

I would have to say that I am mushroom – a little bit organic and natural but also smooth and modern. Or at least, that’s how I would like to see myself! 🙂

  55. Nat says:

Cherry for me – Love to “blush” between the sheets 😉

  56. Belinda McLeod says:

Has to be Charcol for me !!

  57. Alexandra Richards says:

Has to be the Ivory for me Love Love Love It!

  58. Lisa Wood says:

If I was not a mum and married I would say white. But with four boys and one hubby they would soon be King Charcoal sheets.
After looking through the wonderful “I love Linen” colour ranges I would love to say the wood mushroom is for our bed – but I still think its going to show up too much of Australia Dirt (and my boys finger prints)
So after much thought I would have to say that “Cheery Block” is perfect for me! And our motorhome colour scheme 🙂

  59. Marilyn says:

Hi Kellie, Like you, I’m not quite pure enough for white either. Thank goodness those days are long gone! Now I’m a Cherry kinda gal because cherries are sweet when left to ripen, can be a wee bit tart if picked too early but when treated properly, they are soft, sweet and absolutely perfect – definitely me. Love the colour.

  60. Lee Tancredi says:

I would be grey, because i’m a bit of a nana these days. In bed by nine, cups of tea instead of wine… 🙂

  61. What a gorgeous site to browse around on – all that fabulous bedding! My hubby thanks you so much for introducing me to their website he he NOT!
I am totally a white girl – cause I can bleach out any stains that come about from our Friday Night pile into Mum and Dads bed Watch a movie night!. You know the usual stains like, greasy popcorn fingers, chocolate smudges and hot chockie drips 😉 xx

  62. I love white because shouldn’t your bed look and feel like sleeping on a cloud?

Charcoal. Ivory is a close second, but charcoal would go better in our bedroom. Fingers crossed!

  69. carmen says:

Charcoal! It covers a multitude of sins… 😉

  70. Lisa Crambrook says:

I love ‘King White Hotel’, its not practical because of the husband and kids but I would love to dream that I am away on holidays in a hotel somewhere, white reminds me of fresh crisp hotel sheets…dreaming…

  71. Seana Smith says:

I love the charcoal, it totally would match my new carpet… and I’d be amazed and over the moon to finally have something matching something else in my home!!!

  74. LisaW says:

As much as I love the white sheets, they would be completely impractical. I love the charcoal. They look so warm and inviting. Perfect for a good night’s slumber.

  75. Liz says:

It’s have to be Mushroom. A bit warmer than ivory, but not particularly bold… enough colour to hide day-to-day wear and best of all, the cat fur wouldn’t stand out on it 😉

  76. tamra childers says:

I like Cherry. Because it’s trying to be cheery but doesn’t quite cut it, it’s still a little moody, much like myself in the mornings.

  82. Tam says:

No doubt about it, I have to be coffee, especially if ‘you are what you eat’ has anything to do with it 😉

  83. Melissa Kagie says:

Charcoal, I love drawing with charcoal and it represents me well with its strength and mysteriousness 🙂

  84. Michelle says:

HAS to be Charcoal, because I’m a bit of a tomboy (or should that be tomwoman?).

I am pure white – classic, classy and elegant all the way. Alwasy fashionable, always chic and oh so stylish. Absolute perfection rolled up into 1 complete product. Thats me – i’m white alright 🙂

  86. Maria says:

    Wood Mushroom. Down to earth..

  87. Kirsten W says:

I’d have to go the Charcoal – after all, it’s one of the 50 Shades of Grey. Does that mean Charcoal coloured sheets will spice up my bed life much like the book is doing??!!! I can only wish!!

  88. Michelle Gray says:

White, nice fresh clean and crisp, in my mind that’s what I am 😉

  89. Morena Dobrowolski says:

I dream of having white sheets, but I can’t blame the kids for not going there – it’s my forgetting to take my makeup off before I go to bed that makes it impossible. So, for practical reasons, I would choose Charcoal 🙂

  90. I am for white – crisp, classic and restful! Plus our bedroom is nautically themed, so would be classic with our navy trimmings!

  91. kerry horvatth says:

    but Pearl Grey,
