Stepping into Ella’s bedroom is like stepping into a toy jungle. Mostly it’s books and dolls, because she sits at night and reads to “all her children’’. She then falls asleep with all the books and “children’’ on her bed, which ultimately end up on the floor.

The idea has always been to organise and decorate the girls’ bedrooms into a nice place to be. The organising needs work, despite having large built-in wardrobes.

Decorating?

Bright Star Kids

Well, it’s been on the to-do list for a while. Problem is, the to-do list is rather long. We’d already ordered each of their names in wall art from Bright Star Kids. That was about the extent of it though.

My motivation came when Bright Star Kids offered wall art from its new range. We chose the beautiful tree branch with owls. What do you think?

Bright Star Kids

I’m super keen to get the full tree now (an advantage of the set is the ability to buy each piece separately, if you wish).

The beauty of the wall art is it’s easy to handle and can be peeled off and re-stuck  if placed incorrectly. And how can you resist those pastel colours. The ever-bossy Ella gave direction on where she’d like which dot or leaf, but in the end I played safe and kept close to what was in the picture supplied. Home decorator, I am not!

Bright Star Kids

Now it’s onto Holly’s bedroom…. She is about to move into a “big girl bed’’, so we’re now on the hunt for:

• A new doona cover for her bed
• Some more wall art – maybe something slightly different to what Ella has, like BSK’s Bird House Wall Sticker or Sun and Clouds Wall Sticker
• Better organising solutions.

Wish us luck!

My two little girls share a room and they both love everything girly and pink! Fairies, princesses, mermaids, ballerinas and flowers are their favourites at the moment. They’d be absolutely thrilled if we could finally decorate their room properly and make it fit for a couple of little princesses! 🙂

  5. Kel says:

OH! I would love the double branch with pastel bird cages for our new baby’s room – her big sister has a huge fairy silhouette picking flowers on her wall and we love it, but we’re repainting her room soon and it’s not removable 🙁 But this discovery may have solved the problem for Miss 3’s room too 😀

  6. Michelle v S says:

I’ve always had grand plans for what I would do with my daughter’s room but it seems to be one of those jobs that I never quite get around to. If presented with the opportunity I would start afresh and use a rainbow as my inspiration. A range of bright colours mixed with the beauty of mother nature’s plants and animals.

  7. Rachel T says:

My two share a room at the moment because they’re both so young. (i have a boy and girl) I’d love to do their room in a boy & girl nature theme… I’m thinking white clouds, a sun, rainbows and flowers plus some spiders, frogs, dragonflies, mud, rocks, etc so it appeals to them both!

  8. Charlotte L. says:

Rainbows and Unicorns! My daughter just loves them and they’d make a lovely theme!

I’d love to have an Australian Bush Theme: kookaburras, gum trees, A big red rock! and glowing stars for an Outback Milky Way on the ceiling! Oh and it wouldn’t be outback enough with a campfire and billy tea as well.
Would make it so much fun going “outback” to her bedroom everynight!

My little girl has just turned 6 and loves “one direction” so it would be amazing to be able to create a music room with pictures of her favourite band and musical notes.

  17. Diana O says:

‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ – absolute fuel and fodder for little imaginations. The theme options are only limited to the constraints of your minds eye.

  18. Karina W says:

I would love to do a Safari them with animals and trees…just like a real jungle!

  19. Lisa Wood says:

We dont actually have bedrooms anymore! Bunkbeds is what we have. We would love to decorate Kyle’s Bed with Pirate theme or Jungle Theme. Nicholas (who is 13) is a bit tricky…He would love an army theme. Yet not seen of those type of stickers before.
Love the idea of being able to re-stick them if placed in the wrong spot.

  20. Zinky says:

Both my 8 year old girl and I love the owl theme and will soon be doing such a theme in our new house

  21. The beauty of nature indoors to help my little man dream of beautiful adventures in the wild, and hopefully keep his nightmares at bay so that he can sleep in his own bed. All. Night. Long.

  22. Sonya N. says:

I’m with you, the tree branch with owls is delightful and is the one I’d choose for my daughter’s room – we’re in need of stickers because she went through a phase of drawing on her walls and I need to hide all the pen marks!

  23. Seana Smith says:

My daughter has some pictures of woodland creatures and she really loves those. I love underwater images and I’d love to decorate one of the kids’ rooms in that theme. But they are six now so I’d definitely let them make all the choices.

  26. Elise says:

Would love to create the feel of sleeping in the skies, with cloudy, blue walls and ceilings, punctuated with hot air balloons, air planes, and the occasional bird. With some stars to light up at night this feels like the perfect scenario for a little boy to fall asleep and dream by.

  27. Deb K says:

We have a pastel heart theme
but it’s time for a change!

  28. Maree says:

We don’t really have a definite theme going for my sons room. We rent and his walls are a peach colour so our theme is really just green and blue as we have to avoid red and orange so as to not make room look pink! He has a pirate quilt cover, a lime hanging toy basket and lime green and aqua blue paper lanterns hanging. Some wall stickers to go on his wardrobe doors and a name decal would be great for his room.

  29. Karen Edwards says:

My daughter has a butterfly theme in her bedroom I’m wondering how much longer she will want it until she moves on to posters of singers lol

  30. tamra childers says:

I would just love a forrest theme, with little animals peaking out from behind trees. Owls and toadstools, squirrels and deers. Ahh to dream.

  31. Marita says:

We recently redecorated Annie’s bedroom, she is 9yo, so we went with a older, more mature look. Mostly white with red and black accents. She loves it and the room is so refreshing. I thought the red may be too much but it is welcoming which we love.

  32. theresa tan says:

    Forrest Friends with Babushka Dolls!

  33. Di Childs says:

I absolutely adore Bright Star Kids’ new BirdHouse and Owl Wall Stickers, they are just delightful. The birdhouses hanging from the branch and the sweet birds chirping in the tree would look great in my sons room and would be sure to bring happiness to our days!

  34. well this is something four years later i still havent done. i wanted to wait until i knew what he’d like and water and swimming are certainly the favourite. we are painting his room white with one wall blue to match his curtains on that wall i think we’ll put stripes or spots in blues. something that will grow with him. and missy well shes only 3mths so something happy for her i like the birds on the wire stickers or the butterflies of course 🙂

  35. Tegan says:

I live in a rental so have been on the hunt for removable art stickers that are actually removable. I’d love to decorate my little guys room with transport stuff as he loves trucks, ‘digs’ and tractors.

  36. Dannielle says:

I love the jungle theme for my 6 month old son, monkey’s swinging from trees, giraffes, elephants, lions etc. I’ve kind of started, have the tallboy handles in jungle theme and the changetable.. everything else is pretty plain at the moment!

  37. My daughter has a an all over the place theme.. and it needs sorting out. My son has no theme and since he’s only just moved in there we should really sort that out!

  38. Taing says:

My 3 year old daughter room is divided on one side with the letters of the alphabet attached with animal names like O for Octopus. The rest of the room is filled with fairy princess’s as she loves everything pink and fairy! 🙂

    in a pastel coloured world,
    for a feminine and sweet,
    little vintage girl!

  43. Gemmie Alliston says:

I am currently designing a sweet woodland animal themed room, and the Giant Tree Wall Stickers for girls would be a perfect fit! I love its hidden little birds and butterflies, which would match really well with the flower and bird cushions, fox and squirrel wall art, and owl curtains we have already installed 🙂

  44. Cate Russell says:

So many choices, where do you start,
To make my son’s wall a piece of art.
He’s forever pointing towards the sky,
The perfect set would be Flying high!
He is plane mad like his Dad,
Two fanatics? Yes, just a tad!

  45. Eleise says:

Great question because I was just thinking about starting to add a theme to my daughters room. I was thinking of a romantic, loving theme. Pink obviously, with uplifting words and photos of family and friends. I would love to put some hearts on the the wall and gorgeous sayings on the mirror.

  46. Michelle Gray says:

I would love to do an enchanted fairyland in my daughter’s room, she is very girly and loves all things fairy, princess and magical 🙂

  47. Owls, Owls, Owls. I can’t get enough and it’s rubbed off on my youngest daughter!

  48. Angie Boylan says:

As much as I love owls, my two boys prefer a dinosaur theme, as long as they aren’t too scary to keep them awake at night 😉

  49. Rachel K says:

Everyone loves Pooh! I’d love to turn this timeless classic into a great decorating theme. It could be used for boys or girls rooms, and especially for baby’s nursery. The Pooh theme would therefore last quite a few years before I had to change it! It would also be a great way to introduce the little ones to Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and all the 100 Aker friends.
Decorate Pooh items are also very easy to find and with a few plush Pooh toys and some Disney books and dvd’s this could be a real little bee hive for any honey-loving bear!

  50. Kellie Heitman says:

We’ve been thinking of theme ideas for the new baby, and because we aren’t finding out the sex1 we want something neutral – soft, pastel colours are my starting point!
