Charades

Ella and I were playing Charades, a game she received as an early birthday present. The game has either words (the majority of which she can’t read) or pictures. She always goes for the pictures. This is a little of how the game unfolds for us.

Ella: (twirling her finger above her head)

Me: “A helicopter?’’

Ella: “No, Mum. Try again.’’

Me: “Twirling hair?’’

Ella: “No, but it is something curly.

Me: “I give up. What is it?’’

Ella: “A tree’’.

Oh, of course. Silly me.

Do you play charades with your child? I wouldn’t recommend it with five year olds. Phew!

A loss for me and a win for Ella. OK, onto some more wins.

  1. That is so cute! I might try it with my 5 year old just for the laughs.

Oh, it is hilarious, Rachel. You will have so much fun!
We played it with the entire O’Brien family at Holly’s birthday party last month. Everyone in the room couldn’t get over how I was guessing what Ella was doing so quickly. Just goes to show how much you know about your children when you start playing games like these. Although that tree had me totally stumped! 😉

  2. Caz says:

Hahaha Kel, no we haven’t tried that one yet – and after reading that I’m kinda glad 🙂

  3. lol, that is so cute Kel. The eldest was playing dot to dot last night with her Poppy and he had to guess what he had created from her dot to dot pattern. Let us just say we are lucky she gave it away, as he would have had no hope knowing it was a dragon!

    • Kel says:

LOL! Oh, that is too cute, Kym. I love that. Dot to dot is hard for the little ones. I have to keep a real eye on Ella when she does it or she gets carried away with counting the numbers!!

How cute is she. Strangely, as for playing charades, we had a huge family get together a few weeks ago. We played charades and it was hysterical. Of course the adults had had a few of my home made cocktails to liven things up a bit. We will do it again it was so much fun.

    • Kel says:

Love it! Having adults under the influence of cocktails playing the game sounds hilarious, Lilly! We might have to try that at Christmas, I think!! That is such a great idea!!! 🙂

  5. Tamsyn says:

That is so cute! Of course it was a tree 🙂

  6. Glad I found your site Kellie and thanks for the opportunity to link up.
