RIGHT now I’m staring at a beautiful pile of perfectly ironed clothes. Oh, how I love my hubby. Next to that is a pile of socks – odd socks. Where their mates are, nobody knows. The worst offenders are Baby Holly’s toe covers, because they kick off her tiny feet so easily.
It’s this reason I was drawn to something called Sokshus. My wonderfully chic friend Al owns a little Tassie gem called Cadootje, which stocks these part-sock, part-shoes. Incredibly, Sokshus won’t slide off little tootsies.
The gorgeous gift store in Launceston (that’s in northern Tassie, for the uninitiated) had me all excited after Al sent me a brochure from one of her suppliers. Australian supplier Make My Day, which sells everything from kitchen gifts to items for the bar, has cute, stain resistant, silicone Baby Bibs. Why so excited about a bib? Because it’s dishwasher safe. Genius.
Another is their Bottle Warmer, which allows you to warm up bub’s bottle or food without electricity or the fuss of carrying around a heavy thermal flask. Phew. It even fits those wide-necked bottles. The warmer comes in a funky cowhide neoprene pouch for extra thermal protection and features a velcro closure for convenient adjustment.
If you’re in Tassie, make sure you drop in and say hi to Al at Cadootje, located at 27 David St, Newstead. If you can’t quite get there, make sure you visit her Facebook page. Also, check out the Make My Day blog.
Cadootje and Make My Day are giving one Three Li’l Princesses reader a silicone Baby Bib, a Bottle Warmer and a pair of Sokshus (for a boy or girl). To enter:

Entry is open to Australian residents only. The winner will be drawn randomly on Wednesday, March 23 at 9am and announced on this site.
The silicone baby bib would be perfect for my wonderful but very messy eating little girl:)
And how easy to clean! You don’t mind how messy they get when you can just throw the bib in the dishwasher! 🙂
One of my good friends has just had a baby and I’d love to get a little boy bib for her, they are so cute.
Oh, what a lovely gesture Marita. I’m sure she would really appreciate it. Good luck! 🙂
Those sokshus are fantastic like on facebook as mellie jane would love for girl
Aren’t they gorgeous? I love the look of the pink ones. So cute!
would love these fab gifts for my little smiling tiger (bubba boy) socks that don’t fall off – enough said!! winter is coming and we want warm toes 🙂
Oh yes, I’m hearing you Rachel. Just breastfeeding a sockless bub right now. I think her socks disappeared into her bed somewhere!!!
Would love these fab gifts for my little baby girl, I too have a pile of odd socks and even a baby paw (no idea why I am keeping it as I know I lost its partner in a supermarket in melbourne!) 🙂
I can relate to that! You always have that sock or shoe that, even though they don’t have a “mate”, you just can’t bear to part with them! 🙂
Aren’t they all brilliant ideas???
I’m WAY past baby-making age now but I’ll let some others know about the giveaway.
Anything that makes life easier!! LOL!
And thanks for spreading the word, Toni. Really appreciated! 🙂
