HISTORY repeats. I know this to be true, because after downloading a host of photos the other day, I stumbled across this photo of Ella “walking the plank”.
Which looked uncannily like this photo.
This is me “walking the plank”. Kinder, 1982. A photo to place on the front of a Christmas card addressed to my Mum.
Linking up with My Little Drummer Boysβ Wordless Wednesday. Click on the link to check out more photo posts.
Aww so sweet and yes so true uncanny, on the weekend we got a old photo of our eldest and had forgotten how she had looked at 4 months and how our new little princess looks identical!
Don’t you love old photos!
I love how “the walking the plank” equipment has changed so much in 30-odd years. From a wooden board on two tyres to now being a fancy huge shiny play thingy!! π
Awww sweet!
We were looking at pics of the hubster at 7yo yesterday next to our big boy and the resemblances are amazing!
Our youngest is so much like her Dad it’s scary! It’s usually the first thing people comment on when the two are together! Lucky, or there might have been some questions being asked!!! hehe!! π
Wow, she looks exactly like you!!!
Hehe!! If only my hair was that light! π
That is awesome! I’d be framing them and putting them side by side π
It’s like the photographer back then and I were reading each other’s minds on camera angles! LOL! I’d totally forgotten about my Kindy photo until I saw Ella’s when I was sifting through the photo files on the computer. π
So cute. Thanks again for sharing the tip about Wordless Wed. Have included my first one. x
So glad you linked up, Andrea. Loved your inclusion, by the way!! I hope it helps drive a bit of traffic your way! Such a great meme! π
Should see if I can find one of myself about that age see how times have changed since then.
Good idea Leonie, would love to see that.
Will have something up for next week, Maggie!! Great pic of Mum looking a bit like Bo Peep with a sheep. π
Have got the photo. Not to upload it for next week! π
Aaww you are so cute.. Wonderful photos! π
hehe!! Thanks! Wishing my skin was still that wrinkle-free. π
Very sweet! I have 2 photo’s of my husband and son that make you do a double take.. It is fun when you show a picture to Marcus and ask who is that.. he say’s me and I say nope it’s your daddy. (big eyes) lol
LOL!! That’s classic, Glenys. It’s definitely a bit of a spin-out for them!!
I love looking back through the old shots and comparing them to the girls. π
Very cute. And you both have the same brave look on your faces.
It is a bit weird, but fun, comparing photos and seeing just how similar we are to our parents and children. Not so much fun looking at my father-in-law, or photos of him, and thinking “oh god, is this what my husband is going to look like in 20 years?!”.
LOL!! I have tears rolling down my face, Emma. Hubby has just thrown back a “but what about mother-in-laws?”. That shut me up!!! π
Well that is a worry too, ha ha! I already sound like my mother, which is a bit scary π
I have kinder photos of my oldest son on the phone and there is a kinder photo of my husband on the phone as well. looks great side by side but strange at the same time.
It’s definitely surreal looking at the likeness between some kids and their parents. Especially as the kids get older. Love that you’ve got both on your phone. That’s great! π
Oh my goodness, yes!!
You have a little mini me right there!
Haha!! Chubby faces showing a fear of heights!!! π
So beautiful. If you made the second photo look modern, it would be easy to get you mixed up. Happy WW.
Thanks Jodie. Yes, would be a bit of fun to play around with my photo! π
So sweet. My Mum has all my photos and lives interstate, but every time I visit I always look at old pics of me now that I have Miss A. Don’t you love the cycle of life that you see when you become a parent? xx
It is great, isn’t it Shelley? You should take a few photos of your old photos so you’ve got them to pull out occassionally when you’re back home. I love sitting down with Ella and going through all the old pix. She gets so excited. Although, she constantly asks “where was I?”. So hard to explain!! π
Firstly happy WW- it is my first time to your blog! Will have a look around after I comment.
Great photos. I love old photos in general- My older son is a lot like me but in truth both boys are more like me than their dad but sometimes I still catch a glimpse of him in them. You and your daughter are very similar- it is lovely!
Thanks Lulu! I’m the same – I could pour over old photos for hours. Ella loves looking through them too, but struggles to grasp the concept that it was before she was born. Ella really is a real mix of both of us, so she’s not distinctly one or the other. The youngest, on the other hand, is a spitting image of her dad! π
Wow isn’t it funny how generations have the habit of looking strikingly the same t
Too true, Tamara. I have my Mum now pulling out the old photos of her and I can definitely see the girls in some of her old photos. Incredible! π
Wow, I love that. I only have a couple of photos from my childhood. I often wish I could compare photos of myself with those of my children.
It’s one thing I’m so thankful for. I think you only realise how precious those photos are when you become a parent yourself. Treasure those few photos you have. xx
Wow – very similar .
I don’t have many of me as a child at all
(Thanks for linking up. Just catching up on WW today because we had to travel and other mundane stuff.)
Haha!! Just did a post about travelling… with kids! Not the most enjoyable activity in the world!! π
Wow.!
Hehe!! π
