This week I’m grateful for:
- Guest posting on Tina Gray {Dot} Me with a letter to my 16-year-old self yesterday. It was a post inspired by a letter Wildlife Warrior Terri Irwin wrote in the Australian Women’s Weekly. Tina was one of the first Aussie bloggers I stumbled across when I first discovered the mummy blogosphere. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was that on the day I had the chance to guest post for her, I was also blessed to meet her in real life.
- So, that brings me to my next point: Baby Holly and I meeting Mrs Marsh (remember the Colgate lady?) and bloggers at a Colgate bloggers brunch in Sydney yesterday. Surprisingly, these bloggers weren’t hairy, middle aged men posing as women. They were real mums. With real stories to tell. Due to time constraints (just imagine a room full of women all talking kids’ teeth, Twitter and blogging), I only gave an abridged version of my talk on how to grow your blog through building trust with your readers. However, my full notes are coming. Stay tuned…
- Lastly I was fortunate enough to stay with the incredibly inspiring Louisa from Everything Is Edible and Veronica from Sleepless Nights in the sublime Fraser Suites overlooking a stunning view of Sydney (even despite the city experiencing its wettest three days in 60 years). There’ll be more on all that later. However, the real highlight was coming home to Princess Ella and The Bloke in the Shed. Oh, how I missed them. They even had a welcome home box of Cadbury chocolates and a card for me. Although, when I asked three-year-old Ella: “did you miss mummy?’’ she replied with a rather frank: “No.’’. Then laughed a very wicked laugh.
I’m joining with Baby Mac to share what I’m grateful for.
Bloggers are the BEST! Glad you got to meet some this week.
Aren’t they ever? Can’t wait for the chance to meet some more!
Isaac didn’t miss me either, heh. It was so lovely to meet you finally and I am looking forward to reading your full notes.
You too, Veronica. I loved having the chance to finally be able to put your voice to your posts and tweets!! And I had a fab night on Wednesday. I can’t get that fabulous hotel out of my head! LOL!
Loved your post on trust and brands too, by the way. The comments were really interesting to read and have really made me think.
Glad to hear you had a good time and I will look forward to reading those notes. Enjoy your quality time with the little princesses!!
It was fab, Caz. I hope it’s not too much longer before I get a chance to catch up with you too.
Have had a fab weekend with the girls and The Bloke in The Shed so far. Really enjoyed having some one-on-one girly time with Ella today too. 🙂
Are you Blogopolising next weekend in Melbourne? Would love to meet you.
I so wish I was now, Penny. But, unfortunately, no. Juggling a full day of bloggy education and a breastfeeding bub was a little too much for my stress levels!! LOL! However, I’ll definitely be at the next one. Baby Holly’s nearly at that age where I could leave her with someone for a full day. Yay!
Really can’t wait for the chance to meet you too. I’m really enjoying your blog. 🙂
What a fabulous week – there’s something so awesome about meeting other bloggers – it’s such a buzz! Wish you were coming to Blogopolis. xx
So true, Shelley. I really wish I was going now too. Getting really excited for you all! I’ll be there next time, with bells on! 😉
It was so great to meet you! Looking forward to doing it again 🙂
Loved catching up with you too, Louisa. I had a ball on Wednesday night. So great to have a conversation with you and Veronica and not have to use an @ symbol or hashtag!! LOL!
Can’t get that incredible accommodation out of my head too. The view from my loungeroom window is pretty spectacular, but not THAT spectacular!! 😉
Wow! Now I’m wondering what the view from your window is like – maybe next weeks WW for you?
LOL!! I did take one for a WW a few weeks back, but decided against it because it gives away where we live. Unfortunately!
But I can say that we live on a hill in a two-storey house and our view out the front overlooks the city, Mersey River and Bass Strait (we can see the Spirit of Tasmania come in and out each day). At the moment, you can see all the twinkling lights of the city. It’s pretty amazing. One of the reasons I love living where I do!
Oh, and out the back is picturesque Mt Roland. It’s pretty incredible.
Maybe you need to host a bloggy event down here so you can come see it for yourself!! hehe! 😉
It was so great to finally meet you, Kel 🙂 And a pleasure to have you guest posting on TGDM x
I really enjoyed meeting you too, Tina. It was great to finally be able to put your voice to your blog and tweets. Can’t wait for the next time we can catch up! x
I can’t wait til I have the chance to meet some of you fab ladies! Must move away from Adelaide, nothing good ever happens here 😉
x
LOL!! Oh Kellie, I’m in Tassie, so you can imagine that nothing much happens down here either!
I was so fortunate to be flown to Sydney and am very grateful for that. Hopefully I can have the chance to meet you soon. 🙂
Sounds like you had a fab time, cant wait to read all your notes on it!
Thanks Courtney. I should have them up early next week.
And yes, I had an absolute ball – despite being oh so nervous beforehand!! 😉
Sounds like you had a great time! Haha, Princess Ella seriously has a special little place in my heart. I love reading about her!
Aww, that’s so nice to hear, Daisy. I think she loves being on the blog too. Well, she loves looking at pictures of herself, anyway!! LOL! 🙂
Sounds great! something about meeting other bloggers, its awesome.
hope you had a good weekend! x
Most definitely, Jody. It was such a buzz. Really wishing I was going to Blogopolis now!! 😉
