PHOTOS: A sprinkle of fairy dust

AFTER last week’s Wordless Wednesday revealed a photo of Princess Ella and a photo of me “walking the plank”, but taken 30-odd years apart, my Mum started sending through photos of herself at the same age.

What Mum’s photos uncovered is how much we tend to take the same pictures generation after generation. To prove the point, here’s a photo of Mum and Ella dressed as fairies. We won’t reveal how many years apart these two pix were taken.

The little poser – Fairy Princess Ella!
Mum, looking slightly bewildered!

Both of them make beautiful fairies! Where is your fairy photo?

Hmmm, tried to hunt for one to no avail. All I found was me in a dodgy clown outfit! 😉

Ella & Nanny as fairies is gorgeous and so precious to share such memories.
    happy WW.

Thanks Trish. If only I had the full head gear on Ella at the time!! 😉

All girls want to be fairies – regardless of generation/era/nationality 🙂

    Jumped over from Trish’s blog!

So, so true, Nay. It’s very universal! 🙂

    Fairy princesses! Lovely!

It is lovely to see old photos! Especially black and white ones.

Mum had a whole host of them. Was definitely a great trip into the past. The fashions were, of course, rather questionable! 🙂

That is gorgeous! I’m going to have to have a look through my Mum’s old photos when I get a chance.

Such a great thing to do, Kate. It was well worth it! Would love to see some of your mums pix! I love looking at old photos.

Ha ha, that is gorgeous! I supppose kids are so much more used to photos these days, and they (most of them) quickly learn to smile and pose. I love looking at photos of my mum as a child – especially as she is an identical twin and it’s fun trying to pick which one she is.

Uh huh!! Very true! The advent of digital means we’re behind the camera more than our parents ever were. I guess there’s no such thing as wasting film, which used to be the big excuse for not taking many photos!!
I love that your mum was a twin and has photos of herself as a youngster. They would be so much fun to look at. Just brilliant! 🙂

It’s photos like these that just shows the magic of going from “generation to generation” in a family.
