Aussie Giveaway Linkup #82: Holidays with husbands

Bakers Beach TasmaniaI’m still on holidays. Well, from the blog, at least. You’ll notice even my Facebook page and Twitter account are a little quieter than usual.

I did promise I’d keep the Aussie Giveaway Linkup going, so feel free to link up below. I’ll also make sure it gets shared via my social media networks to help you all gain a bit more traffic.

Meanwhile, I’m off to battle a husband who’s just started four weeks holiday this weekend. Some days that’s a blessing. Some days that’s a curse.

Please, tell me I’m not alone on that one?

  • My Tasmanian Backyard 2013 Calendar and Diary

My Tasmanian Backyard 2013 Calendar and Diary

As a gift for your support throughout last year, I offered the My Tasmanian Backyard 2012 free downloadable calendar. For some bizarre reason, 100 of you downloaded it. Or one of you downloaded it 100 times. One of the two.

So, in light of that, I’m launching the:

My Tasmanian Backyard 2013 free  downloadable calendar

Once again, it features family friendly Tasmanian events by month, public holidays, school terms and photography from our family “backyard’’ adventures around Tasmania. It’s ideal to give to family as a gift. Just download it for free here or by clicking the cover image, then print it out.

However, there’s more this year. Yes, brace yourselves.

    We’re also launching the:

    My Tasmanian Backyard 2013 diary

I’ve been looking at all the bookmaking services for a while. Then Blurb offered me a $50 voucher to create my own book, so I jumped at the chance. I contemplated a photo book, cookbook, wedding book and business books. Then I had a mini meltdown because I couldn’t decide which I wanted to create first.

I thought the diary was too good to pass up and complements the calendar so well. Plus, I’m a huge list person – I even make lists of my lists. So diaries are right up my alley.

While you can make a book for as little as $2.95, I will caution you about adding colour, because it can increase the price of your book. The type of paper, size of the book and number of pages will also dictate how much your book will cost to make. Of course, using all black and white in your book can be effective too. The beauty of Blurb for me was how incredibly easy it was to use – and that you can have a book in your hand within a couple of weeks.

The Backyard diary features weekly parenting quotes for inspiration, a full week to a double page and colour photography of Tasmanian family friendly locations. You can buy it in three formats – soft cover, hard cover with dust jacket, and hardcover with Imagewrap. I wish I could give this one away free, but unfortunately there is a cost if you’d like one. I’ve kept it down as much as possible – and it is a beautiful diary. Of course! You can buy a copy here.

Guess what my family are getting for Christmas?

Do you live by an old-fashioned diary or are you more up with it than me and prefer the electronic versions?

  • WIN: Aussie Giveaway Linkup #36: Breastfeeding edition

WIN: Aussie Giveaway Linkup #36: Breastfeeding edition

EVERY night this week, Li’l Holly has been playing with her food – also known as my boobs. She’s lost interest in breastfeeding, which means we’re nearing the end of what has been one of my great joys of the baby years.

I’ve said before how incredibly fortunate I’ve been that my four girls (bazookas and children) have made breastfeeding a pretty easy task. I also might add that it’s been an immense help in decreasing my waistline. Sadly, it looks like I’ll finally have to start exercising again.

There has been a slight issue with breastfeeding though, especially having done it for a combined 30 months. This is it – shrinking violets:

Seriously, Ella and Holly have sucked the life out of me. Well, my boobs at least.

On the win front, I can finally enjoy a wine with dinner again, get my tea-stained teeth whitened and slather anti-wrinkle cream into the deep ravines around my eyes. Vain? Yes!

Talking of winning, it’s that time of the week again. Get clicking and see what fabulous things you can win for you and your family.

  • Australia Day Eve eParty: Click here to join in

Join us as Three Li’l Princesses hosts an Australia Day Eve eParty in the palace tonight from 8pm. Yes, the ABC1 Australia Celebrates Live concert doesn’t start until 8.30pm, but we’ve got the little matter of who’s been announced Australian of the Year to discuss and whether or not they were worthy. That’s announced at 6.30pm, by the way.

The eParty is a chance for mums (and dads) to throw on a flanny, doll up with a bit of zinc cream and slip on some thongs (the feet variety – although, hey, I’m not fussy) as we watch  INXS, Katie Noonan, Spiderbait, Sneaky Sound System and the Potbelleez on ABC1’s Australia Celebrates Live Concert.

The night will involve an Australia Day giveaway, silly quizzes, daggy videos and some rather ridiculous photos, courtesy of The Bloke in The Shed (in other words, don’t blame me for those ones!).

Simply click on the link below tonight and start chatting. Feel free to come and go as you please. We’re all mums, so we understand that getting children to bed comes first. We’ll pull up stumps about 9.30pm, when the concert finishes.

If you have an iPhone you can also download a free app to use with the blog at the iPhone app store or on www.coveritlive.com
